Once upon time not that many years ago there lived a very compassionate farmer that raised chickens on his farm in the midwest. He was known by all of those who knew him to be a very kind a honest man. One day he decided that in order to help his chickens come in to the world he would take a razor blade and cut a small slit in the eggs just before the chicks were about to crack through the shells. What he didn’t realize that his actions rather than helping his chicks he was hindering them by taking from them their individual responsibility to do it for themselves. In order for the young chicks to develope the strength and endurance tol survive in the real world they need to be tried and tested. The farmer in his attempt to make it easier for the chicks actually caused them great harm. Like the Chicken farmer our governments needs to allow individuals to reap the harvest from the seeds they sow. Family, friends and neighbors should be there for those in need but the government needs to preserve, protect and defend our rights to succeed or fail based upon our own initiative, determination and willingness to pay the price for success.
