They would have us believe that if a single celled amoeba can evolve into a eagle, the Constitution can become whatever our legislators want it to be.

From the beginning of time man has been the victim of tyranny and oppression at the hands of his fellow man. The Constitution was written to protect the rights bestowed upon us by our Creator. The unalienable rights of Life, Liberty and Property are eternal and so is the human nature. There will always be individuals that will seek to enslave the masses in order to achieve their selfish objectives.

When our Constitution is strictly obeyed it has the capacity to enslave the government and allow the people to be free and individually responsible for their own success or failure. When “We the People” elect wolves to supervise the sheep, the results are both predictable and catastrophic.

It is true that conditions change and the Constitution needs to be tweaked from time to time. This is accomplished through the amendment process. If people want a change we need to petition or elected officials to propose a Constitutional Amendment. After 2/3′s of Congress approves and 3/4′s of the states ratify the proposed amendment is added to the Constitution.

Can you change the interest rate on your mortgage or other provisions as the your financial situation changes? In order to do so you need to renegociate with the lender. The Founding Fathers knew that the people would have to have a method of making changes in the the Constitution from time to time. For the government to change the meaning of the Constitution would be like having an attorney that is working for the lender to aribitrarily change the terms of your mortgage conract without your consent. They provided for these changes to be made using the Amendment process. To say that the Constitution is a living document provides the would be usurpers of power to change it simply by interpreting it differently. The Constitution is based upon the Declaration of Independence and the eternal truth contained in it. The principles of the unalienable rights  have always been true and will be. To circumvent the amendment process and make changes by interpretation rather than by Constitutional Amendment is how our government officials have tricked and swindled the American people. The Constitution and the paper it is written on is dead but the principles upon which it was written will never die as long there are men and women that yearn to be free.
